Professor Dr. Antonio Fernández-Cano holds a PhD in Educational Sciences and Philosophy. He is Professor-Chairman in the department of Research and Diagnosis Methods in Education at University of Granada. As methodologist, his focus and specialization areas are research evaluation, educational scientometrics, the study of doctoral dissertations and the complementary methods for the evaluation of educational programs.
He has 45 years of teaching experience in several levels of education, 30 of them in higher education, having taught more than 50 courses and different subjects. He was a founding member of the Granada-Mats group (1972-1985), a pioneer in Spanish research in mathematics teaching.
He is author of 26 papers indexed in the Web of Science databases, with an index H = 5. Codes in ResearcherID = B-7376-2008, and ORCID: 0000-0003-3991-4443. Director of the Research Group HUM-567 “Evaluación de la investigación y de programas educativos andaluces” (Research Evaluation and Andalusian Program Evaluation). He is also author of more than 60 papers indexed into the Spanish database ISOC_CINDOC. He has published more than 60 books and monographs. Also, he has supervised 9 doctoral dissertations.
He has been visiting teacher at University of Lisboa, at University of Bielefeld and University of Münster in Germany.
